How to Avoid and Get Rid Of A Spyware Infection

Spyware infection is just that, an infection. Spyware infection means that your computer's been infected with unwanted software. The nature of the software is to track what you're doing so naturally when you are experiencing spyware infection, you notice interferences in computer performance.

Spyware infection occurs when you click "yes" on random downloads. The spyware infection is in the hidden software that gets installed when you agree to these downloads. Spyware infection also occurs when you open pop-ups that are attached to spyware infection downloads.

Companies use spyware infection as a sneaky way to track your movement on the Internet. The information that's gathered via spyware infection allows the companies to turn around and send certain promotional material and other annoyances to you via email and pop ups.

So how do you know if you're experiencing spyware infection? The sad truth is that if you're connected to the Internet, you probably have at least some spyware infection on your computer. Spyware can make your system run slower, and some applications may behave very oddly.

Before you freak out and envision your computer blowing up before your very eyes, know that there are certain "symptoms" that indicate your computer's been infected by spyware.

First your computer, specifically your Internet, will start slowing down. Spyware infection will also slow down other programs, so if you notice yourself getting increasingly frustrated with Internet speed or other program efficiency, you might be experiencing spyware infection.

Spyware infection also invites unwanted pop-ups onto your computer. You'll notice an increase in frequency of pop-ups if you have a spyware infection. You'll also notice that the pop-ups occur when you're not even using the Internet. This is a sure sign of spyware infection. When you are using the Internet, if you experience pop-ups that are completely unrelated to the site you're on, you may have a spyware infection. Many times these unrelated pop-ups are of a pornographic nature.

Spyware infection messes with your personal Internet and browser settings. Often times spyware infections reset your homepage and prevent you from changing the new home page back to the homepage you originally set. Spyware infection also prevents you from finding Web sites that you're looking for, creates new toolbars that you can't get rid of and slows your entire computer down.

Unfortunately a massive onslaught of spyware infections that haven't been addressed can cause your computer to crash. It's much better to deal with spyware infection on a regular basis than it is to wait for it to fester into a bigger problem.
