Why Do I Need Spyware for our Computers?
There are as many people who want to know why we need computers as there are people who want to know why we need spyware software for our computers. It's hard to find an average citizen who would ask themselfves - Do I need spyware? They may not believe that we need spyware at all, but there are plenty of advertising companies that seem to think everyone needs spyware on their computers.
Why do we need spyware? Well, the average computer user doesn't need spyware. In fact, spyware is an unnecessary headache for computer users. Spyware invades personal computers, causes computers to slow down and crash, creates annoying pop-ups, lets hackers in and lets people lift important personal information from the computer. Corporations that don't use spyware would also argue that we don't need spyware. A spyware infection at the corporate level can be extremely expensive and time consuming to fix.
However, certain companies, specifically those that allow free file sharing, say they need spyware because without out it they might go out of business or be forced to come up source of revenue.
For example, a music sharing company might argue that it needs spyware because it sells the information gathered by the spyware to advertisers and that without spyware, it couldn't sell information to the advertising companies, which would force it out of business.
In turn, the advertising might argue that it needs spyware because spyware allows it to find new customers. Spyware allows these companies to track a user's Internet activity. The company needs spyware because without unlimited access to tracking Internet use, it would just throw ads at anyone rather than directing ads at a specific target market.
Hackers would possibly argue that we need spyware because it allows them to infiltrate computers more easily, but it would be very difficult to find many people who would agree with that argument for why we need spyware. Computer savvy identify thieves might also agree that we need spyware because it allows them to steal private information, including credit card numbers, from a person's computer.
Some people would argue that what we really need is law against spyware. A law that makes the statement that we don't need spyware would arguably be difficult to enforce. Defining spyware would be difficult. It would also be difficult and expensive to get people to spend their days tracking companies that use spyware.
There's no correct answer to the question, "why do we need spyware," because the answer really depends on who you ask. Those who seek financial benefits from spyware argue that we need spyware and those who have been hurt by spyware infections would argue that spyware is completely unnecessary.
There are many programs available that aim to protect system users from contracting spyware, and they can even help you remove it once you've become infected. If the infection is severe, you may want to contact your local PC repair technician to have it removed.
